Carin Bondar for Chilliwack School Board

There is an upcoming by-election for the Chilliwack School Board to replace Dan Coulter. It is extremely critical that we come together and vote on February 13th, 2021.

The horrible events that occurred in America have taught people something that we in Chilliwack have known for a while – that progressive leadership is not a given – and for LGBTQIA+ youth and indeed for people of all identities and abilities, progressive leadership in schools is critical to the health and wellbeing of youth, as well as their growth and success as adults.

Chilliwack residents have directly felt the effects of some of the unsupportive and bigoted school board trustees over the years, some who have attempted to stand in the way of SOGI-123 and even downright bullied members of our local LGBTQIA+ community. We can work together to keep our school’s policies and leadership progressive, which ensures all youth are protected and supported.

This is why we endorse Carin Bondar for Chilliwack School Board. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology, is an educator at UFV, and has built a unique and successful career in science communication. She is also the mother of FOUR children in Chilliwack’s public school system. She is actively involved in our district as a parent, and is excited at the potential of serving ALL students in School District 33!

If it is important to you, and your family that we have a forward-thinking, inclusive trustee (and board majority), please consider making a safe trip down to Chilliwack Landing Sports Complex or Heritage Park on this February 13th.
